It can mean the difference between life and death.

R4 Bone Marrow Drive - Be a hero. Save a life

The R4 Race Committee was inspired to hold a Bone Marrow Drive for the first time in 2008 when we learned of a young man from Monticello, Jared Carlew, who was in need of a donor. Jared, a brave 21 year old, stood before the R4 family of runners, walkers and volunteers, and told us all how important it was that we all become donors.  We reported later that year, with great sadness, that Jared passed away. He never had the transplant. Jared’s death has not been in vain. Since that day he addressed us all, the R4 has added over 650 names to the international bone marrow donor bank.

Jared wasn’t alone that day in his quest to find a match. Standing with him, Gil Sandvoss who passed away in 2010, never finding his match. Brittany Beckmann didn’t find her match either.

Maybe you are the match that will save a life? Come to the R4 and sign up to become a bone marrow donor. Be a Hero. Save a Life.
